Diabetes is one of the most common and costly diseases
in the United States, impacting as many as 18 million Americans. In
the past eight years, diabetes has risen 33% and is now the sixth leading
cause of death in the United States and in Michigan. Approximately 90-95%
of people with diabetes have type 2 diabetes.
In an effort to address this growing problem, Michigan State University Extension is working with researchers at Michigan State University to design programs that help people manage diabetes.
